Andre Kish is a graduate student at the Kevorkian Center at New York University, with research interests in sanctions, tariffs and trade and export controls. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies and Politics and a Master of Arts in International Economics and Finance, both from Brandeis University. Over the past 8 years, he has studied Persian, Arabic, Uyghur, Uzbek, Turkish and Kurdish in academic settings, funded by grants from the Departments of Education, State and Defense. Andre’s previous professional and intern experiences include work for the Departments of Commerce and State and the House of Representatives. As an avowed congressional supremacist, he is particularly interested better understanding and advancing Congress’s constitutional role in appropriations, policymaking and oversight as it relates to trade, foreign policy and national security.
