Judy Akid is a rising senior at Providence College, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies. She serves as Arab Student Association co-president and a member of Student Congress on campus. This past summer, she interned at Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island, where she supported refugees and immigrants in their citizenship process. Previously, Judy researched Arab American children’s books, examining how representation shapes social and political identity at a young age. She plans to attend law school to pursue a career in human rights and international law.
